BILL DIREEN (nz)

Bill Direen est un écrivain et musicien originaire de Nouvelle-Zélande.

Depuis la fin des années 70, il a enregistré quelques authentiques classiques lo-fi/low budget. Il a collaboré avec de nombreux musiciens garage-pop, improvisateurs acoustiques ou électroniques et autres expérimentateurs sonores.

Son projet musical le plus connu reste le groupe culte The Bilders (ainsi que ses excroissances & diverses permutations: Six Impossible Things, Die Bilder, Above Ground, Bilderbergers, Builders, Soluble Fish etc.)
dont il reste le seul élément pivot et immuable.

The Bilders sous leurs incarnations diverses ont publié de nombreux disques notamment sur les labels tels que Flying Nun ou Siltbreeze.

Son dernier LP, "Flavour of the Meat" (2013, Grapefruit Record Club) a été enregistré à New-York avec David Watson (cornemuse), Hamish Kilgour (ex-The Clean à la batterie) et Miggy Littleton (basse).
Bill présentera quelques unes de ses chansons à l'occasion de ce concert aux Instants Chavirés.
Il s'accompagnera à la guitare et à l'harmophone.

SKY NEEDLE (aus)

Nommé d'après une bizarrerie architecturale phallique, construite à Brisbane pour l'exposition universelle de 1988, le groupe s'est juré dès sa fondation en 2009, de ne jouer que d'instruments de leur propre invention et fabrication.

Leur premier jam (devenant aussi leur premier EP – 'Time Hammer') a posé les bases de leur son – "primitif, hypnotique & insensément funky".

Initialement un trio, SKY NEEDLE est depuis devenu un monstre à plusieurs têtes avec l'arrivée de la vocaliste Sarah Byrne et l'ajout en 2012 de trois nouveaux membres – tous aussi bricoleurs – apportant tout un attirail de nouveaux instruments originaux.

Quelque part (?) entre Harry Partch, Y Pants, Theoretical Girls.
Première tournée en Europe.

MAD NANNA (aus)

originaire de Melbourne et suscitant déjà des comparaisons avec The Shaggs, Jandek, The Dead C, Axemen ou The Shadow Ring, le quintette joue une drôle de "bedroom no-technique downer rock/pop", narcoleptique, désaccordée et suivant des rythmiques bien incertaines.
